Saturday 1 March again Some of my followers maybe wondering about my title for the blog - Mundus Casius Pars Duo. Well I thought since I liked Latin so much, I'd do a title in Latin. That way it wouldn't be picked up by web trolls who weren't educated by the Christian Brothers. It means World Adventure Part Two.  So, Lady P is looking for a title and theme for her Find Penguins. She asked me in the middle of the hot spa for some suggestions in Latin. Well, I thought of Brother Shields in our Latin classes and thought she might be better doing it in French. After waking at 9.30 am and relaxing until 1.00 pm, we eventually made it to the town centre and all the smart Nigels and Pamy's were doing coffee. A pleasant walk about and we ended up at PJ's Pie Emporium. Well, a pop up pie shop where the cheapest pie is $8.50.  Saturday 1 March 2025 After an delayed flight to Christchurch, which saw us arrive at 1.30 am and a short sleep at the Airport Hotel, we picked up our hire car - a little hybrid Toyota Aqua and checked out our pet sit for the end of the trip. This involved a short drive to Lincoln to meet the owners, then on to visit Angel and Vienna, Lady P's niece and grand niece.  Then in the afternoon, a 2.5 hr drive to Hanmer Springs, a spa town in the mountains. Our little Alpine Motel is very pleasant and the town of 700 (swells to 10,000 in the season), is treelined and full of little coffee  shops and restaurants. However, it is expensive. And I expect NZ will be expensive all over. 500g of butter and I understand they do make some here! is $12. Petrol is $2.69 a litre. Dinner at the local restaurant, No 31 was very good. Tuna tartare and smoked duck and Orange Roughy with a good Sauvignon Blanc and two Pinot Noirs also quite acceptable. However, much wine research is still requ...
Thursday 27 February Day one of the second around the world adventure, after two nights with Gavan and Elaine in Brisbane and a visit to Buderim to see Zena. Andrew came for a visit as well and as we had brilliant weather, we all went for a surf to Alexandra Headlands Beach.
20 February 2025 The world adventure part two starts next week 27 February. Stay tuned for the posts.
